six14 Dates and Update

17 02 2010

Hi parents,

I hope you’re doing well! I just wanted to take a moment to make sure you had all the dates for our six14 parent-youth ministry through the rest of the current ministry year, and to make sure you knew why we’re doing what we’re doing. Our next meeting is this Saturday, and the rest of the six14 dates are below (and all other dates can be found on the calendar page of this blog and the church website – see www.sgclife.org)

As for content, we’ll continue to dip into passages in Galatians for a series I’m calling “Pursuing a Gospel Passion.” We’re highlighting certain, glorious benefits of the gospel – “the good things that come to us through the good news,” as I put it last month – because that’s what fuels a love for the Savior. It’s the truths of what He has done and what He has made possible for us that can serve like kindling for the fires of passion for Him in our hearts. And that’s what we want for our young people, isn’t it! All of life flows from that pursuit of the first great commandment (loving God with all we are), and so nothing could be more important than fanning that flame into a blaze in their hearts (and ours too)!

The one exception to that plan will be in April when we’ll have Warren Boetcher with us to teach us. I hope you can join us for all these meetings!!

With you in this holy task of parenting,
